Ring girl Sydney Thomas, who recently gained fame during the Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul event, has disclosed that she ended her relationship with her boyfriend just before her sudden rise to stardom.

The heavyweight clash, broadcasted live on Netflix, featured the influencer and University of Alabama student as a ring girl, leading viewers to proclaim her as the star of the show. The 21 year old was seen alongside fellow MVP event models Lexi Williams, Raphaela Milagres, Virginia Sanhouse, and Delia Sylvain. “Sydney Thomas, the real winner of Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson,” one X (formerly Twitter) user declared post-match.

Another user humorously commented on the live streaming issues: “If the Paul vs Tyson fight buffered only while showing Sydney Thomas the fight wouldn’t have been so bad,” A third user joked: “My entire feed is Sydney Thomas content and honestly I’m down with it.” A fourth admirer said: “Just watched the highlights of Mike Tyson destroying Jake Paul, it was crazy a fight but my winner is Sydney Thomas.” In a recent chat with YouTube creator Nick Nayersina, Thomas revealed that she parted ways with her long-term boyfriend. She also mentioned that they had no problems and it was ‘hard to lose each other’.

“I literally broke up with my boyfriend,” she started. “I had no problems with him at all. Like, he was great. I just broke up with him because I was like ‘I just need and want more time with myself.’”. She reflected: “As hard as it was to lose him and lose each other I feel like it’s all God’s plan. It works out in the end.”

When probed about when the split happened, Thomas revealed: “This was right before summer. I ended the relationship because I felt the need to spend more time alone and discover who I truly am.” The young star also opened up about her current love life, confirming her single status and her choice to take a break from dating, saying “any man is a distraction to me.”

Although not actively seeking romance, Thomas divulged her ideal partner profile, commenting, “I need a man that’s taller than six foot. I’d like a tall man in my life [since] I’m a tall girl,” and emphasizing respect as a crucial trait. “I need someone who is respectful and I think that’s honestly one of the biggest turnoffs for me; when a man isn’t respectful.”

After Paul clashed with Tyson in Texas, Thomas shot to fame on social media, now boasting 1million TikTok followers and 775k on Instagram. Despite her brief appearance, fans flocked to follow her online. Meanwhile, in a fight that failed to captivate audiences, Paul emerged victorious over the ex-heavyweight champ by unanimous decision.

After the bout, Paul spilled about the pre-match bickering, conceding that despite the hype, he held back from knocking out Tyson, recognizing the toll his age had taken. “I wanted to give the fans a show but I didn’t want to hurt someone that didn’t need to be hurt,” he confessed.

Furthermore, he observed Tyson’s flagging defense, saying, “There was a point where he (Tyson) was not engaging back, I could just tell his age was showing a little bit. That violence war thing… that went away as the rounds went on.”

Unfazed by critics, Paul added, “People just love to hate me. I intentionally say things for people to hate. That’s what I like to do. If people want to see more… give me a couple of months. I tried to give the best fight I possibly could. When someone’s just surviving in the ring, it’s hard to make it exciting. I don’t care what people have to say. It is what it is.”
