Travis Kelce climbed to third place in the NFL’s all-time list for receiving yards by tight ends during the Kansas City Chiefs game with the Carolina Panthers – but Taylor Swift missed out on witnessing him do so.
Swift opted not to make the journey to North Carolina even though she’s set to be away from the stage for two weeks – until her December 6 show in Vancouver – after finishing up her final shows in Toronto on Saturday night. This makes it two games in a row that Swift has missed out on – missing the Chiefs’ loss to the Buffalo Bills last weekend.
Swift has attended more games than she’s missed since making her relationship with Kelce public back in September 2023, regularly making long trips across the nation to see the tight end in action.
And after seeing Kelce set multiple records in that time, including being present to see him win his third Super Bowl championship, she missed the 35-year-old become the third-highest receiving yards leader among tight ends in NFL history on Sunday.
Kelce is behind only Tony Gonzalez and Jason Witten, with 11,884 yards after overtaking former San Diego Chargers legend Antonio Gates in third place.
The tight end has not had his best season in 2024 with his numbers down significantly this year in comparison with previous, but he continues to be a go-to receiver for Patrick Mahomes.

Kelce’s lack of production had been one reason why Swift had opted to stay away from the Chiefs games in week three and four, reportedly allowing the tight end to ‘focus on the games’ while not wanting to be a distraction – something he and Chiefs teammates have continued to state is no issue.
Despite Kelce and Mahomes’ numbers being down this year, the Chiefs still boast the best record in the NFL this season with a 9-1 record, with the playoffs likely to run through Arrowhead Stadium should they continue in this form.
Kelce will undoubtedly go down as one of, if not the greatest tight-end’s of all-time, with the Chiefs legend seemingly committed to continue to play through the 2025 season after signing a new deal this past summer.
