Millionaire Kylie Jenner has been called a ‘climate criminal’ for using a private jet 11 times in two weeks and flying three times on January 16.

Despite the backlash against celebrities’ excessive use of private jets, Kylie Jenner appears to have no plans to cut back on her jet use in 2025. In fact, Kylie’s $70 million-plus private jet has flown 11 times since the start of the year, with three flights on the same day, January 16.

According to CelebrityJets , these flights emitted about 162 tons of CO2, equivalent to the electricity consumption of 33 households in a year. Four of the 11 flights lasted less than an hour, and the shortest one was just 15 minutes.

Kylie Jenner has flown eight times since the Los Angeles wildfires began on January 7. One of the shortest flights was on January 9, a 15-minute flight from Los Angeles to Camarillo, California, which emitted one ton of CO2 and burned 359 liters of fuel.

Three days later, the plane took off again, flying 36 minutes to Palm Springs, California, emitting three tons of CO2 at a cost of $1,555. Hours later, Kylie flew to London, England to support boyfriend Timothée Chalamet at the premiere of A Complete Unknown .

The pair then flew 47 minutes from London to Paris, France. The flight emitted 4 tons of CO2 and 1,353 liters of fuel, costing $2,000, nearly six times the price of a Eurostar ticket (which took less than three hours). On the way back to the US, the plane stopped in Fargo, North Dakota, then Rifle, Colorado, before reaching Teterboro, New Jersey, a total of three trips in 24 hours.

The 27-year-old millionaire bought the Bombardier Global 7500 in 2020 for a reported $72.8 million. According to Celebrity Private Jet Tracker , she took 195 flights on the plane in 2024. The furor surrounding Kylie’s use of the plane has only grown as wildfires have scorched Southern California, burning 40,000 acres and killing 27 people.

On January 17, Kylie’s Kylie Cosmetics Instagram page posted a promise to donate skin, body, hair, and makeup products “to help young people in Altadena feel confident again.” The post read: “We are truly heartbroken to see the devastation caused by the fires in Los Angeles. It is heartbreaking to see so many people displaced and hear stories of people who have lost their entire homes.”

The post received 21,000 likes but also faced backlash over Kylie’s use of private jets, with one follower advising her to “use her power wisely.”

One person wrote: “Taking a private jet to Paris contributes to global warming and causes wildfires in LA, and we know you do this multiple times a year, then using lotion as a Band-Aid on Los Angeles wildfire victims, it’s disgusting.”

On Reddit , many also expressed outrage at Kylie’s misuse of private jets. One angry person wrote: “They don’t care. They never will. Kylie sharing the donation link is just a show.” Another commented: “How fake is Kylie when she shares about the LA fires, she was one of the main causes of the fires in the first place with her misuse of private jets. She used her own plane for days while the fires were still going on.”

This is not the first time Jenner has been accused of “eco-terrorism.” In the summer of 2022, she was criticized for taking a 12-minute flight for a 42-km journey, when it would have taken only 39 minutes to drive.

Previously, the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star repeatedly urged fans to go green to save the planet and promoted the eco-friendly products she buys for her daughter Stormi.

Kylie Jenner is among the stars who have been criticised by environmentalists and the media for their excessive use of private jets. Singer Taylor Swift was criticised as the star who caused the most CO2 pollution in 2022.
